The Argyle Extended Tirage Brut 2008 is a crowning achievement for Vintage American Grower Sparkling WIne. Bottle fermented and aged on yeast for ten years, this best wine of Argyle Extended Tirage Brut represents the culmination of Argyle winery’s ambition to create wines that endure.

Given that the Argyle Extended Tirage Brut 2008 was produced in the WIllamette Valley of Oregon, United States, it is classified as a sparkling wine instead of champagne. Food that best goes with this brut sparkling wine are seafood like shellfish, crab and lobster. Absolutely delicious.

A beautiful sparkling wine that sings a beautiful song of elegance with each bubble released, the Argyle Extended Tirage Brut has a deep and creamy character.

With the sparkling harvest lasting three weeks and drawn out into mid-October, the 2008 Extended Tirage Brut wine is bursting with a crisp acidity and red fruit flavours. As it is aged upon the lees for 10 years before disgorgement, the vintage sparkling wine is impressive for its depth and creamy layers of texture.

Grilled plum, red cherry, honey and orange rind are layered with the mature complexity of brioche and roast nuts, bringing harmony to a graceful and elegant finish. There is also a touch of saltine cracker, though with more Pinot Noir in the mix, this brut sparkling wine delivers complexity on the palate.

The 2008 growing season was considered a ‘late bloomer’. A very dry, cold spring delayed any flowering until July rather than the traditional June time frame. August brought the much needed rainfall – more rain in August than any one month of March, April or May. As usually happens, the predicted rain in October was called off and dry Indian summer weather took hold. Ripening and picking occurred at a nice, even pack. The last day of picking for these champagne grapes was October 29th.
